I live in Irondale, Alabama, east of Birmingham. Birmingham is located in north central Alabama, at the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains. Founded in the late 1800's, it has been well known for its iron, steel, and coal industries. The University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center is known around the world for its research in the fields of medicine and health. Irondale is the setting for Fannie Flagg's novel and movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" and the Irondale Cafe serves fried green tomatoes daily.
My husband Bill and I love to travel. Please take a look at our travel pictures and slide shows from areas around the world.
Try out my recipe for Louisiana pralines. They're always a hit and easy to make.
